Art-Full Abstract: Candle Creation

As a candle lover, I've been longing to make my own candle for quite some time. I was thrilled to help Alex connect with Melanie Rousselet, the founder of Artisane, to bring this fun event to life.

We gathered for this beautiful experience at the Refinery Hotel in Midtown Manhattan. Melanie guided us through the entire candle-making process, sharing her expertise on everything from selecting the right wax and fragrance to proper pouring techniques. We had the opportunity to choose from an array of fragrance oils, ranging from pistachio to ginger. The star of the show was the delicious coconut wax, known for being one of the healthiest options available. To add a finishing touch, we could decorate our candles with rose petals, lavender buds, and glitter.

For my candle, I decided to use a pistachio fragrance oil. I'm thrilled with my choice - now that I'm lighting the candle at home, I can still smell the delightful pastry scent filling the room.

After the workshop, we strolled over to Elsie Rooftop for drinks. I opted for a white sangria, the perfect summer beverage to cap off the evening.

I absolutely loved spending such a lovely night with a group of wonderful women. Alex, the organizer behind Women of Culture, has a remarkable talent for creating a welcoming and fun atmosphere at every event. Her attention to detail and genuine passion for bringing women together shines through in each gathering. If you're looking for unique experiences to connect with like-minded women, I highly recommend joining Women of Culture for their future events!
