Join Women of Culture for a private reception & walk-through at Lincoln Glenn Gallery exploring 250 Years: American Women Artists and the Nation’s Story — an exhibition that brings overlooked voices back into the spotlight and invites us to see American history from a different perspective.
Spanning the Revolutionary era through today, the exhibition brings together work from every decade of the nation’s history, revealing generations of women who created, experimented, and built remarkable careers even when the art world offered them far fewer opportunities for recognition.
We’ll travel through 250 years of creativity — from intimate early portraits and sweeping landscapes to Impressionism, Modernism, abstraction, sculpture, and contemporary art — encountering both familiar names and fascinating artists whose stories deserve to be rediscovered.
Among them are Mary Cassatt, Sarah Miriam Peale, Ida Ten Eyck O’Keeffe, Mercedes Matter, Lee Bontecou, Harmony Hammond, Lynda Benglis, Teruko Yokoi, and many more.
Over the course of the evening, we’ll have the chance to slow down with the work, exchange perspectives, and connect with fellow culturally curious women in the intimate setting of the gallery.
Come raise a glass to the women who created, challenged, experimented — and left their mark on American art, whether history remembered their names or not.
