Why Women of Culture?
Back in 2016 before I started Women of Culture, I felt lost and alone in NYC. Even though I had lived in the city for 10 years, I struggled to find my ‘tribe’ and felt tired of the same old bar nights and professional networking events.
When I held my first official Women of Culture event in 2015, all I knew was that I longed to do something more purposeful and productive with my free time and to meet other women who shared my passion for the arts and all forms of creative expression.
In the time since, I have hosted more than 400 art-based events for over 5,500 amazingly independent, intellectually-curious and arts-minded women across the country. In that time, I have learned that community is something which must be prioritized and carefully cultivated — and never taken for granted. Most importantly, I no longer feel like I live on an island of one.
I want nothing more than to share the power of this community and our carefully curated art-based experiences with even more women across the country. I hope you will join our efforts to build a better world with art, community & women at its center.
