Spend the evening of Wednesday September 28th with fellow art-full women as we take the time to slow down and appreciate the beauty 'at the edge of things' with a private exhibition viewing and artist talk at Kathryn Markel Fine Arts in Chelsea.
Inspired by and featuring artist Sydney Licht's new exhibit, At the Edge of Things, the evening will feature an artist talk along with facilitated small group discussion and networking.
Licht's work draws inspiration from the common, disposable detritus of everyday life and creates still lifes centered around takeout containers, department store boxes, sugar packets and other disposables. She tells the domestic experience of society’s materialism via modern takes on the still life.
She will speak about her work and process, also providing us the opportunity to reflect on our own habits of consumption and take note of the art and beauty the exists in the every day objects that fill our lives.
Women of Culture Founder, Alexandra Harper, will also walk attendees through a few steps to bring more calm, focus & attention into their lives along with an opportunity for facilitated networking and small group discussion around the themes of stillness and observation.
Tickets are $20 through 9/21; $25 thereafter
FREE for Premier members!
Wine, snacks and time for observation, reflection & mingling included.
