Virtual Connection Session: Hand Lettering with Rothbyrn's Creative

Let’s get ‘together’ online for a virtual version of a paint & sip - but with mimosa’s, bloody Mary’s, and hand lettering, taught by the fabulous Danielle Rothman of Rothbyrn’s Creative from 2-3:30pm on Saturday March 28th.

In our virtual zoom classroom, we'll learn about different lettering styles, practice putting together interesting layouts and combinations, and hand letter out our feelings regarding the Coronavirus and current social distancing situation (or anything you desire!). There is plenty of room for creativity here, so feel free to bring your own ideas as well as any thoughts or feelings you might like to express to the session.

Part art class, part connection session, we will also take time to get to know one another and discuss our feelings about everything going on in the world before getting to express those feelings through the hand lettering practices we’ll be learning.

This sort of workshop would generally be at least $50 if offered in-person, but is being offered at the discounted price of $30 due to the current health crisis. If you are being adversely affected by the coronavirus and can’t afford $30, there is also the option of making a $20 donation. Plus, you can feel good about helping a struggling creative during a stressful time!

The workshop will be conducted over Zoom so you will need a standard webcam and microphone to participate (which most everyone has on their computer and/or smart phone). You will also need to have your own supplies — but paper and a black marker are enough, as well as any source imagery or inspiration you might like to use — and of course bring your own Mimosa (or bloody Mary)! Zoom link will be emailed to all confirmed participants at least 1 hour before the class.

This is the 2nd of our virtual connection sessions, designed as a way to bring the Women of Culture community together while we're practicing social distancing due to COVID-19. The intention is that these online gatherings will help anyone who identifies as a woman of culture to feel more peaceful and connected as we navigate this strange new 'normal'. Take a break from your Netflix binge, learn a new skill and stay connected (from a distance)!
