About Serena Bocchino: Serena Bocchino is an American contemporary artist. Bocchino’s studio practice investigates the intersection of abstraction and expressionism with a distinct focus on music, movement, and identity. Bocchino’s work has been exhibited internationally in solo and group exhibitions. She has received recognition and awards including, the Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant, PS1/MoMA Studio Residency, the Basil Alkazzi Award USA and The New Jersey State Council on the Arts Fellowships in both Painting and Drawing. Recently, NJ Transit and New Jersey State Council on the Arts commissioned Bocchino to create four public art installations at Newark Penn Station.
About George Nelson Preston: an artist whose mixed-media, abstracted paintings are anchored by his profound scholarship in African art, years in Lower Manhattan’s avant-garde art scene, and extensive travels across the Atlantic world as an art historian, essayist, and curator.
