On Friday September 20th, Art-full members are invited to enjoy an upbeat and lively evening of step dance brought to you by Step Afrika!, plus a private patron's reception before the show AND a post-show dinner!
Hailed as one of the top 10 African American Dance Companies in the US, Step Afrika! blends percussive dance styles practiced by historically African American fraternities and sororities; traditional African dances; and an array of contemporary dance and art forms into a cohesive, compelling artistic experience.
As those who may have seen them perform at Fall for Dance in 2021 will remember, their performances are much more than dance shows; they integrate songs, storytelling, humor, and audience participation. The blend of technique, agility, and pure energy makes each performance unique and leaves the audience with their hearts pounding.
Since it’s an early and relatively short 75 min. show, we’ll gather for drinks/food/dessert after the show to discuss our impressions and share our favorite moments at the Ribbon(approx. 10 min walk from Alice Tully Hall).
All tickets include a seat with the group for the performance. Full experience tickets also include 1 alcoholic beverage OR appetizer or dessert at the restaurant. All other food/drink needs to be paid separately on-site at the restaurant.
