On Sunday May 4th, you’re invited to join us for an unforgettable experience celebrating trailblazing women—past and present!
We’ll embark on a private, guided tour of Changing the Face of Democracy: Shirley Chisholm at 100 at the Museum of the City of NY, followed by a lively Lunch discussion on women in leadership at Alison East Harlem.
Marking the centennial of Shirley Chisholm’s birth, this ground-breaking exhibition explores the life and legacy of a political pioneer who defied expectations and reshaped American democracy. As the first Black woman elected to Congress and the first woman to seek a major party’s presidential nomination, Chisholm dedicated her life to fighting for racial and gender equality, workers’ rights, education, and social justice.
Chisholm’s fearless leadership and refusal to be silenced align with Women of Culture’s mission to celebrate the power of art, history, and storytelling while fostering deeper connections among a wide network of women and allies.
Her story will surely spark insightful discussions over Lunch as we reflect on women’s leadership—past, present, and future.
✨ Come celebrate an extraordinary changemaker while connecting with the amazing women of today. But space is limited for this exclusive private tour—reserve your spot now!
