Cartooning the Everyday: A New Yorker Carton Workshop with ArtsClub Studios

  • Artsclub Studios 311 E 3rd St, New York, NY 10009 United States (map)

Ever wondered how New Yorker-style cartoons come to life?

Join us at ArtsClub Studios on Friday March 27th for an engaging, hands-on workshop with Hilary Fitzgerald Campbell, acclaimed cartoonist, comedian, and author, and learn how to turn everyday observations into sharp, relatable, and funny cartoons.

Hilary will guide you through her creative process — from spotting humor in daily life to shaping ideas into well-crafted visual punchlines.

No creative talent or drawing skill is necessary - this session is all about having fun and connecing to your inner comedian and artist with plenty of laughs and opportunities to embrace imperfection.

What you’ll get from this workshop:

  • Hands-on guidance to create your own New Yorker-style cartoons

  • Techniques for spotting humor and translating it into visual storytelling

  • Insights from a professional cartoonist on crafting relatable, funny illustrations

Hilary is also the author of Murder Book, What Did I Do Today?, and The Joy of Snacking, and illustrator of books including Feminist Fight Club and Are You My Uber?

Come ready to sketch, laugh, and see the world through a cartoonist’s lens. 🎨✨
