THIS IS AN EVENT FOR ART-FULL MEMBERS ONLY. Please join here in order to attend.
Join the Art-full members for an intimate look at the Alice Neel exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art with Bernadine of the ‘Beyond the Paint’ podcast - plus a Central Park picnic and optional rooftop drinks on Sunday July 11th.
Alice Neel: People Come First is an ambitious survey exhibit that positions Neel as one of the century’s most radical painters, a champion of social justice whose longstanding commitment to humanist principles inspired her life as well as her art, as demonstrated in the approximately one hundred paintings, drawings, and watercolors that appear.
Art Historian, Educator and Founder of the ‘Beyond the Paint’ podcast, Bernadine will be our guide for the afternoon, helping us to better understand and appreciate Neel’s beautiful and complex works.
First, we will meet for a picnic in Central Park, learning more about Neel and her work before a 2pm entry at the museum. Bernadine will be on hand to answer questions during a self-guided visit of the exhibit, followed by the option to meet on the roof for drinks and further discussion. Stick around to see the New Woman Behind the Camera show as well!
All tickets include 2pm museum entry + a seat at the picnic (please note when ordering if you will be providing your own food). Full experience includes picnic lunch provided by Le Pain Quotidien (please choose sandwich option when ordering*). Rooftop drinks are optional and should be paid separately on site. In the case of rain or extreme heat, we will dine indoors at LPQ and outside food will not be permitted.
Art-full Members must book here in order to attend.
