LA: The Other Side of the Moon Private Gallery Night & Artist Talk

  • Hannah Sloan Curatorial 5613 San Vicente Boulevard Los Angeles, CA United States (map)

Join fellow Art-full Angelenos for an intimate after-hours evening with artist Katie Shapiro and a private viewing of her exhibition, The Other Side of the Moon at Hannah Sloan Curatorial & Advisory.

With the gallery closed to the public, we’ll experience the exhibition alongside Katie as she shares the stories, ideas, and personal experiences behind this deeply autobiographical body of work. Throughout the evening, guests will have the opportunity to engage directly with the artist, ask questions, and explore the work through conversation.

In The Other Side of the Moon, Shapiro pushes photography beyond the traditional image, combining photographs with glass, mirrors, obsidian, jade, and other sculptural materials to explore the spaces between the seen and unseen, physical and psychological, intimate and cosmic.

Her lunar imagery becomes a lens for considering motherhood, memory, healing, transformation, and the cyclical nature of life.

Katie’s work has been exhibited internationally and is held in public collections including LACMA, The Huntington, and the California Museum of Photography. She lives and works in Los Angeles.

Drinks and light snacks will be served, with plenty of time to mingle, connect, and meet fellow Art-full Angelenos who share a love of art and culture.

Come for a special evening of art, conversation, and connection—with rare access to both the exhibition and the artist in an intimate setting.

Space is limited for this private Women of Culture gathering. Advance ticket purchase required.
