Art-full members are invited to join us for a special summer afternoon exploring the visionary world of Iris van Herpen, one of the most innovative fashion designers working today.
Known for dissolving the boundaries between fashion, art, technology, science, and the natural world, van Herpen creates breathtaking couture inspired by organic forms, movement, water, architecture, and the unseen forces that shape life around us. Her work feels at once futuristic and deeply connected to nature — inviting us to reconsider what fashion can be, and how creativity can emerge from the world we inhabit.
This private guided tour of Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses at the Brooklyn Museum offers a rare opportunity to experience her extraordinary work through expert insight, conversation, and close looking. Together, we’ll explore the craftsmanship, imagination, experimentation, and interdisciplinary collaborations behind her iconic designs, from sculptural silhouettes and cutting-edge materials to inspirations drawn from biology, natural phenomena, and the body in motion.
Following the tour, guests are invited to continue the experience outdoors with an optional summer picnic in nearby Prospect Park. Inspired by the natural forms and sensory themes that run through van Herpen’s work, the picnic offers a relaxed setting to gather in nature, connect with fellow members and culture lovers, and reflect on the exhibition in a beautiful summer landscape.
Whether you’re passionate about fashion, contemporary art, design, innovation, nature, or simply love discovering visionary creatives, this experience offers a fascinating look at one of the most influential voices shaping the future of artistic expression.
