Mindful Photography Workshop/Nature Walk + Boathouse brunch

Mindful Photography Workshop/Nature Walk + Boathouse brunch

from $25.00

On Saturday, October 5th you are invited to stimulate your creativity while also immersing yourself in nature during our private, guided L.E.N.S. Method™ Foundation Workshop in Central Park, followed by an Art-full member's brunch at the Central Park Boathouse.

Created and taught by professional photographer, Carey Kirkella, L.E.N.S. stands for Light, Empathy, Now & Storytelling and is a healing and practical creative approach that has the added benefits of supporting both mental and emotional wellbeing.

This experience collapses personal development timelines and boosts wellbeing, through a fun and engaging series of photography classes (and ‘photo story prompts’) that will transform your outlook on life and open you up to a world of wonder and serendipity.

During this 90 minute workshop and nature walk, you’ll receive inspiration and begin to practice a technique that incorporates mindfulness and helps you connect more deeply with the energy of nature through making photos.

No photography knowledge or equipment is necessary - this is for you even if you think you’re ‘not good at taking pictures’. Smartphones welcome!

You won't want to miss this chance to learn more about the art of photography, take better pictures, experience the fall beauty of Central Park and meet fellow art-full women along the way!

Please note:

  • All tickets purchased here include the 1.5 hour workshop with Carey.

  • Full experience tickets (for Art-full members) also include 1 brunch entree + 1 non-alcoholic beverage + tax/tip at brunch. All additional food/drink needs to be ordered separately on site at the restaurant.

More about your teacher:

Carey Kirkella is an award-winning photographer with 20+ years experience. I’ve collaborated on ad campaigns, custom image libraries for many different types of companies and brands, small businesses and purpose-driven organizations.

She says: “My storytelling images help brands connect emotionally with their audiences. And I’ve been told many times that one of my super-powers as a photographer is that I have the ability to help anyone quickly feel at ease when I’m photographing them. I’m passionate about mental and emotional health, and so I’ve combined my love of storytelling photography and personal development by creating The L.E.N.S. Method™. It’s a framework I’ve designed to help others learn what I’ve been doing for my entire life - how to use the process of making images as a tool for mindfulness and emotional resilience. It’s smartphone photography as a force for good in our lives. In addition to commercial work, I’m a fine art photographer and have exhibited my work internationally. One of my photo projects that I’m passionate about is called Sisters & Survivors, portraits of breast cancer survivors with their sisters. It’s a tribute to my sister, who my family lost to the disease in 2013. It’s also an awareness campaign for the needs of people living with Stage IV (metastatic) breast cancer, which receives the least amount of funding for research.”
